Why the country matters for verification

When an app asks for your phone number, the country of that number affects more than the dial code. It decides the price of a one-time code, whether numbers are available right now, and sometimes whether the service works at all — a few services don't operate in certain countries. It can also shape what you see after sign-up: local content, payment options and marketplace settings often follow the number's country.

Each page in this tool answers the practical questions before you pay: in which countries can I get a number for this app, how much does a code cost there today, is anything in stock, and which countries are cheapest. Picking a country

• Target audience first. If the account is for customers, followers or clients in one country, a number from that country looks natural to them.
• Then price. Per-code prices can vary a lot between countries for the same app; the cheapest five are highlighted on each page.
• Then stock. “Restocking” means numbers are temporarily taken — new ones arrive during the day.

One code or a number to keep

A single-use OTP number receives one code and is released, and it is refunded automatically if no code arrives. That is fine for a quick sign-up.
