How to choose a country for Coinbase

Coinbase verifies accounts with a numeric SMS code, delivered by SMS. You enter the number at the phone step during sign-up or Settings → Security. Every country on this list is one where we supply real mobile numbers for Coinbase verification, so the choice comes down to three things: what the account is for, price, and stock.

1. Match the country to how you'll use the account

If you want a local presence — a stable 2FA number for a crypto account — pick a number from the country you're targeting. Some apps also tailor content, payments or features to the number's country, and a number that matches your location and language settings tends to raise fewer questions during sign-up.

2. Compare prices

Per-code prices for Coinbase currently range from $0.26 to $2.90. The cheapest five are shown above; the full table is sorted alphabetically so you can find a specific country quickly. You only pay when you order, and a single-use OTP order is refunded automatically if no code arrives.

3. Check stock
