Tips for Maldives numbers
- After +960, Maldives mobile numbers begin with 7, 9 — a quick check that you pasted the whole number.
- Only need one code and the country doesn't matter? Malaysia costs $0.16 for Amazon, against $0.25 here.
- Each Amazon country store is a separate marketplace — a local number fits local accounts.
Why use a Maldives number for Amazon?
Day-to-day life in Maldives runs on Viber, WhatsApp and Facebook, yet Amazon remains the app for a local marketplace account for buying or selling. A +960 number keeps that account tied to the country without using your personal SIM.
Guesthouse and dive bookings: Travellers staying on local islands like Maafushi or on liveaboard dive trips arrange transfers and bookings via Viber and WhatsApp.
Amazon uses the number for two-step verification, seller checks and delivery contact.
