- After +86, China mobile numbers begin with 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 — a quick check that you pasted the whole number.
- Only need one code and the country doesn't matter? Malaysia costs $0.28 for PayPal, against $2.10 here.
- PayPal requires your real identity and residence; the phone number is only one part.
Why use a China number for PayPal?
Day-to-day life in China runs on WeChat, Alipay and Douyin, yet PayPal remains the app for receiving payments with a number that matches your account country. A +86 number keeps that account tied to the country without using your personal SIM.
Sourcing from Chinese suppliers: Importers buying through Alibaba, 1688 or the Canton Fair in Guangzhou use a Chinese number to talk to factories that do almost all their business on WeChat.
PayPal sends login and payment codes for as long as the account exists.
