Tips for Sudan numbers
- After +249, Sudan mobile numbers begin with 1, 9 — a quick check that you pasted the whole number.
- Only need one code and the country doesn't matter? Lesotho costs $0.13 for Microsoft, against $0.22 here.
- Add the number as a recovery method, not just for sign-up.
Why use a Sudan number for Microsoft?
Day-to-day life in Sudan runs on WhatsApp, Facebook and Messenger, yet Microsoft remains the app for Outlook, Teams or Azure accounts in a local region. A +249 number keeps that account tied to the country without using your personal SIM.
Families spread across borders: Many Sudanese now live in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Chad and beyond, and a +249 number keeps them in family WhatsApp groups.
Microsoft sends recovery and lock-out codes to the phone on file.
