Tips for Israel numbers
- After +972, Israel mobile numbers begin with 5 — a quick check that you pasted the whole number.
- Only need one code and the country doesn't matter? Syria costs $0.16 for Amazon, against $0.98 here.
- Each Amazon country store is a separate marketplace — a local number fits local accounts.
Why use an Israel number for Amazon?
Day-to-day life in Israel runs on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, yet Amazon remains the app for a local marketplace account for buying or selling. A +972 number keeps that account tied to the country without using your personal SIM.
Students and volunteers: Overseas students in Jerusalem or Haifa and long-term volunteers can register for local apps like Wolt and Gett with an Israeli line.
Amazon uses the number for two-step verification, seller checks and delivery contact.
